At the opening of the film, the zombies have reunited with and assimilated into the rest of Seabrook. Zed plans to ask Addison to Prawn, the Seabrook equivalent of Prom, while Addison captains a group of new recruits to compete against veteran cheerleaders coached by Bucky. Soon after, though, Bucky announces his candidacy for class president which means that the cheer captaincy will go to someone else; Addison hopes to succeed Bucky.
The werewolves head to Seabrook Power and face off against the demolition crew. The werewolves are arrested at the demolition site, but Addison, alerted by a siren at school, arrives with the cheerleaders and zombies, who get the adults to stop the demolition. After the demolition is postponed, Zed reveals to Addison that he took the necklace from her. Angry, she puts on the necklace, but finds out that she's not a werewolf. The device controlling the demolition shorts out, and Seabrook Power is unwillingly demolished.
Prawn night arrives and Zed, as well as the rest of the non-humans, show up to crash Prawn. Zed and Addison make up, however, the ground starts shaking and splits open with a blue glow from the hole. The werewolves realize that the moonstone is not destroyed and enter the hole to find it. The humans and zombies follow to help. They find the moonstone, but a huge boulder blocks the way. Zed removes his Z-band and uses his zombie strength to lift the boulder and allow the others to bring the moonstone out safely. They return to Prawn; Zed and Addison subsequently share their first kiss.
In ZOMBIES 2, life in Seabrook has settled into a new normal now that zombies and humans coexist peacefully. At Seabrook High, Addison's (Meg Donnelly) and Zed's (Milo Manheim) relationship continues to grow, and there's excitement in the air as the much-anticipated formal dance -- a first to welcome zombies among the attendees -- approaches. But when a pack of werewolves descends on the town in search of their fabled leader, the Great Alpha, and the powerful Moonstone they hope she will reveal, Seabrook is thrown back into a frenzy of monster paranoia that threatens the tenuous zombie-human relationships as well. As Addison finds her fate inexplicably tied to the werewolves' quest, Zed's fears grow as he sees her building bridges with the newcomers. Can Seabrook weather the storm of this latest round of interspecies drama?
Once again, it's the young people of Seabrook who affect positive change in the mentality of the whole community in this story. The predicament is understandable, given that the new arrivals are werewolves who don't come across as exceptionally friendly and whose presence causes a rift in the new, hard-fought unity between the humans and the zombies. But Addison shows impressive fortitude in relating to the werewolves on their terms and encouraging others to follow suit, and her example proves the community's saving grace. In the process, everyone learns something valuable about being comfortable with who they are and recognizing the positive qualities in others.
To be honest, though, that's not what Zombies 2's young fans will be looking for when they watch, and for them the movie plays up young love, atypical characters, and lots of impressive song-and-dance scenes. There are ample funny moments -- often at the hands of Addison's colorful and comically self-involved cousin, Bucky (Trevor Tordjman) -- and some sweet ones between Bree (Carla Jeffery) and her zombie love interest, Bonzo (James Godfrey). The werewolves command the screen when they're in a scene, offsetting the vibrancy of Seabrook High and its students with their dark ruggedness. The story struggles in parts to keep a consistent pace and rushes through plot points that deserve more time, but ultimately it's bound to be a crowd-pleaser for viewers who enjoyed Zombies.

So just a heads up, I'm watching all the songs in chronological order. Which means by this point, I did not need another reprise of this song. Look, it's great in the first movie, but they've already done a slowed-down reprise (more on that later). They could have this relationship beat without the reprise, so it wasn't necessary in the first place. Also, as a friend of mine pointed out, its inclusion in the second movie made the reprise in Zombies 3 less effective.
Luckily, Eliza comes in with the zombies and gives us a (too-brief) solo, and that gets us back on track for a solid ending with all the groups merging together for the first time. Oh, also water choreography? YES PLEASE.
And the ALIENS. As a Matt Cornett fan, I was already excited to see him, but their choreographed intro lived up to the hype. And by the end, the entire ensemble gets in on this number, including the adults! The aliens and zombies/werewolves/cheerleaders advancing towards each other is a clear homage to Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, and paired with the chorus (I cannot emphasize how much I love this chorus), it's a great climax to a worthy (although slightly long) opening number.
As I mentioned, I've been watching in chronological order, and for a second I was worried that the first movie wouldn't hold up to the others. And then this started, and I instantly forgot everything else. The entire Zombie series rides on if you're rooting for Zed and Addison, and their first duet is nothing short of electric. (Because of the light bulb. Ha).
It's staged beautifully with only a few items in the mostly-empty room, giving both actors the space to display their physical humor and natural chemistry. The lyrics are well-written, the music is catchy, and it's a delight to watch as they go from playful to romantic and then have to contain themselves after returning to the crowded hallway. It's no wonder this song has multiple reprises throughout the series, but the first performance is easily the best.
Kendall Vertes, Ava Michelle, Asia Monet Ray, and Mads Lewis all play zombies, while Piper Rockelle, Hayden Summerall, Tati McQuay, and Alan Stokes take on the cheerleaders. Starring as the new werewolves include Nia Sioux, Chloe Lukasiak, Carson Leuders, Ben Azelart, and Sofie Dossi.

- if the zombies are computers (because the Z-bands have their personalities) then why don't they just get rid of them, why are they even there? If their Z-bands have a chance of breaking, and zombies are computers, then they'd completly lose control and eat all of the people.
Alright, well that's enough for the zombies, although I could think up more, I don't have many complaints about the humans besides them being dumb enough to welcome the zombies, so let's just move on to the Werewolves.
